Prawns With Wild Taro Root(কচু দিয়ে চিংড়ি)

Here’s a delicious recipe for **Prawns with Wild Taro Root**. Wild taro root is a starchy tuber that pairs wonderfully with seafood like prawns. This dish has a rich and earthy flavor from the taro, balanced with the sweetness of prawns. Make sure to handle taro carefully, as it can be slightly irritating if not cooked properly.

### Ingredients:

- 500g prawns (cleaned and deveined)

- 250g wild taro root (peeled and cut into small cubes)

- 2 tbsp mustard oil (or your preferred oil)

- 1 onion, finely chopped

- 2-3 green chilies (slit)

- 1 tsp turmeric powder

- 1 tsp red chili powder (optional for heat)

- 1 tsp cumin powder

- 1 tsp ginger-garlic paste

- 1 medium tomato, chopped

- Salt to taste

- Fresh coriander leaves for garnish

### Instructions:

1. **Prepare Taro Root:**

   - Peel and cut the wild taro root into small cubes. Boil them in water with a pinch of salt and turmeric until they become tender but not mushy. This should take around 10-15 minutes. Drain and set aside.

2. **Cook Prawns:**

   - In a large pan or wok, heat 1 tbsp of mustard oil. Add the cleaned prawns, sprinkle with a little salt, and sauté until they turn pink and are cooked through. This should take around 3-4 minutes. Remove and set aside.

3. **Cooking the Base:**

   - In the same pan, add the remaining oil. Add chopped onions and green chilies. Sauté until the onions turn golden brown.

   - Add the ginger-garlic paste and cook for another 1-2 minutes until fragrant.

   - Now, add the tomatoes, turmeric powder, red chili powder, cumin powder, and salt. Cook until the tomatoes are soft and the oil starts to separate from the mixture.

4. **Combine Taro and Prawns:**

   - Add the boiled taro root to the pan and mix well with the spices. Stir-fry for a couple of minutes, allowing the taro to absorb the flavors.

   - Add the cooked prawns back into the pan. Stir gently to avoid breaking the taro. Cook for another 5 minutes, allowing everything to combine well.

5. **Finishing Touch:**

   - Garnish with fresh coriander leaves and serve hot with steamed rice or flatbread.

### Tips:

- Make sure to thoroughly cook the taro root to avoid any irritation.

- Adjust spices according to your taste. You can make it more or less spicy based on your preference.

Enjoy your flavorful **Prawns with Wild Taro Root**!
