Boyal Fish Curry(বোয়াল মাছের ঝাল)

 **Boyal Fish Curry** is a flavorful and traditional fish curry often cooked in Bengali households. Here's a simple recipe for preparing this dish:


### Ingredients:

- 4-6 pieces of Boyal fish (washed and cleaned)

- 2 tbsp mustard oil (or any other cooking oil)

- 1 large onion (finely chopped)

- 1 tomato (chopped)

- 2-3 green chilies (slit)

- 1 tbsp ginger-garlic paste

- 1 tsp cumin seeds

- 1/2 tsp turmeric powder

- 1/2 tsp red chili powder

- 1 tsp cumin powder

- 1 tsp coriander powder

- 1/2 tsp garam masala powder

- Salt to taste

- Fresh coriander leaves for garnishing

- Water (as needed)


### Instructions:


1. **Marinate the Fish**:

   - Rub the fish pieces with a little salt and turmeric powder. Let it rest for 10-15 minutes.


2. **Fry the Fish**:

   - Heat mustard oil in a pan until it starts smoking, then reduce the heat to medium.

   - Fry the marinated fish pieces for 3-4 minutes on each side until they are golden brown. Remove from the pan and set aside.


3. **Prepare the Curry**:

   - In the same oil, add cumin seeds and let them splutter.

   - Add chopped onions and sauté until they turn golden brown.

   - Add ginger-garlic paste and fry for 2 minutes until the raw smell disappears.

   - Add chopped tomatoes and green chilies. Cook until the tomatoes soften and the oil starts to separate.

   - Add turmeric powder, red chili powder, cumin powder, coriander powder, and salt. Stir well and cook the spices for 2-3 minutes.


4. **Make the Gravy**:

   - Add water according to the desired consistency of the gravy and bring it to a boil.

   - Add the fried fish pieces into the gravy. Cover and let the fish cook in the gravy for 10-12 minutes on low heat, allowing the flavors to infuse.


5. **Finish the Curry**:

   - Sprinkle garam masala powder and give it a final stir.

   - Garnish with fresh coriander leaves.


6. **Serve**:

   - Serve hot with steamed rice or rotis.
